WHO’S EATING THE INTERNET

This project examines the phenomenon of digital decay through the metaphorical lens of the web as microbiome. Despite popular belief, the internet is not forever, and digital information is subject to decay and erosion, in a way that is similar to that of organic matter. Six soft sculpture models each represent a different imagines organism that lives in the web ecosystem. These sculptures were scanned and cataloged via a hand-coded website. You can explore the website by clicking this hyperlink.
